One session is a 1 to 1 life profile, involving general reminiscence exercises around a variety of subject matters – life, family, career, pets, or other relevant topics. This is complimented by gentle physical exercise sessions including, amongst other things, throwing soft balls and generally keeping muscles going as much as possible, either indoors or, when the weather permits, in the confines of our beautiful south facing landscaped gardens.
The Cedars Care Home in Trafford, which has been renowned for providing high quality long term, respite care and day care for over 30 years, sees our visiting hairdresser, Martin, spending happy times in the salon with our residents every Monday and Friday. Cut-and-blows are mixed with singing and merriment, and the ladies especially are always eager to have their hair done and enjoy the whole experience.
Each Thursday morning residents at The Cedars Rest Home in Altrincham are given the opportunity to take part in exceptional art classes, provided by accomplished artist Lynn. Lynn is often able to encourage even the most reluctant artists to pick up a paint brush and to produce often quite stunning pictures !
The provision of a wide variety of activities and events forms a vital part of the high quality care provision for which The Cedars care home in Altrincham has been known for almost 33 years. June brings with it our traditional Summer Garden Party at The Cedars care home near Altrincham. Taking place in the confines of our beautifully landscaped gardens in the heart of the leafy Bowdon Conservation Area, the Garden Party has taken place every year since The Cedars commenced providing high quality elderly care and dementia care in 1986, and will include feature a lovely barbeque and entertainment. All residents, families and friends and most welcome.
As part of our rich activities programme, June will see interactive activity technology trialled at The Cedars Care Home in Trafford, which provides long term and respite care for the elderly, including dementia care. Touch Tables are a relatively a new development featuring a large touch screen table top projecting moving objects, and we expect them to interest and fascinate clients in equal measure.
