Pen-Y-Garth Care Home residential and EMI residential care home in Wrexham are thrilled to have been named as one of the top 20 care homes in Wales, according to reviews submitted to leading care home search engine www.carehome.co.uk. We are the only care home in Wrexham to make it into this year’s elite group. This exceptional commendation reflects not only the incredible hard work done by our amazing manager and our fantastic team, who have stood up to the immense and unprecedented challenge presented by the Covid pandemic, but the first class care for which Pen-Y-Garth has become renowned in the last 27 years.

Pen-Y-Garth residents receive Oxford Astra Zeneca Vaccines

Pen-Y-Garth Care Home in Wrexham, which provides high quality residential care and dementia care, is delighted to announce that residents have now received their first doses of the Oxford Astra Zeneca vaccine. Regular testing of all staff and residents, and all necessary infection control measures, will continue to apply until further notice.

Pen-Y-Garth Residents make the most of the garden and warmer weather

Residents at Pen-Y-Garth Care Home in Wrexham, which provides high quality residential and EMI residential care in a beautiful setting, are making the most of the warmer weather and our lovely sensory garden, along with family and friends. Some residents, meanwhile, are enjoying some light gardening and utilising the new items purchased for the garden, with some being very keen to help out watering the plants and bulbs, and even tidying up – thank you !

Staff are also busy organising our annual Summer Fete, which will take place in our beautiful gardens overlooking the stunning Welsh and Cheshire countryside. We are truly fortunate to occupy such a stunning position.

Maintaining Links with the Local Community crucial to life at Pen-Y-Garth

Pen-Y-Garth Care Home, which provides high quality long term care, respite care, and day care, has been at the very heart of the local Brymbo Community for over 3 decades, and maintaining close links with the community is vitally important to us. A Bingo night was recently held in the local pub, bringing an excellent turnout including Pen-Y-Garth residents, whilst we are delighted to welcome the Salvation Army into the Care Home every other Sunday.

Activities abound at Pen-Y-Garth Care Home in Brymbo

Pen-Y-Garth Care Home near Wrexham, which provides high quality long term, respite and day care, including dementia care, is proud of the wide variety of activities provided to clients. Our Activity Co-ordinator, Alison, works closely with staff from Wrexham CBC to provide relevant and stimulating person-centred activities, including fantastic sensory games-boxes. Also arriving shortly at ‘Platform Pen-Y-Garth’ will be a 3D train and garden shed build board, which are eagerly anticipated.

Staff Training : A Cornerstone of Care Ethos at Pen-Y-Garth Care Home in Wrexham

The continuous training of staff in all elements of care provision is a cornerstone of the excellent quality of care for which Pen-Y-Garth Care Home in Wrexham has been renowned for over 25 years. Many congratulations go to staff members who have recently completed their Dementia Champion and Qualifications and Credit Framework ( QCF ) training courses. Well done !

THE CEDARS CARE HOME

The Cedars care home is situated in the leafy suburban village of Bowdon in south Manchester. The home itself is a Victorian property built in the 1870′s and sympathetically converted by Caring UK throughout the 1980′s. The care home caters for 34 residents in mainly single room, en-suited accommodation and has a range of spacious communal facilities with large outdoor spaces and landscape designed gardens.

PEN-Y-GARTH CARE HOME

Pen-Y-Garth care home is situated in the rural village of Brymbo, just four miles from the North Wales town of Wrexham. A Georgian property set in 2 acres of landscaped grounds and with stunning panoramic views of the countryside, the home was originally converted to its role as a care home in 1985 and extended five years later with the addition of a purpose built EMI wing. Pen-Y-Garth now provides exceptional 24-hour residential and EMI residential care for up to 44 residents.
