The Cedars Care Home in Trafford now extends its comprehensive range of support services to those suffering with dementia by adding to its Care Champion compliment three senior staff who are working with residents and their respective family members participating in activities which they personally enjoy.

The Cedars Care Home in Bowdon is Praised by Trafford Council

the-cedars-excellent The Cedars care home, which provides high quality residential care for the elderly including dementia care in Altrincham, is very proud to have been awarded a top level “ Green ” rating by at a recent routine infection control inspection, along with yet another 5 Star Food Hygiene rating, both by Trafford Council Environmental Control. These commendations by the Local Authority serve to demonstrate the high quality care services that The Cedars has provided for 32 years. Congratulations to all staff for this well-deserved achievement.

cedars-young-careThe Cedars care home in Bowdon has long been proud to welcome student from local schools as volunteers, to engage with our dementia and physically disabled residents. All residents have bespoke care plans written to reflect and respond to their specific needs. The work experience at the specialist care home, which has been caring for over 30 years in leafy Bowdon Trafford, is an important part of the students’ academic experience and extra curricula learning. We wish these students the best of luck in their future careers.

Cedars residents celebrate Valentine’s Day and Shrove Tuesday to boot

cedars-valentineWe can tell you how many Valentines cards were exchanged at The Cedars Care Home this week but we have a good idea of how many pancakes were shared by our residents. The Cedars, which is one of the prime care homes in Trafford, always has great support from family friends and the community in and around Bowdon, Altrincham and often further afield. The Cedars is regulated by Care Quality Commission and is a member of the English Community Care Association.

Art and creativity join hands at The Cedars

cedars-artsLocal artist Lynda Dourish comes every week to The Cedars residential home for the elderly, situated in the heart of the Bowdon Conservation area in Trafford, to host a creative art workshop for our residents. Clients participate in the creation of pictures and artworks taking their ideas from the natural world including birds, flowers and landscapes in their subjects, with examples of their work being displayed in the care home.

THE CEDARS CARE HOME

The Cedars care home is situated in the leafy suburban village of Bowdon in south Manchester. The home itself is a Victorian property built in the 1870′s and sympathetically converted by Caring UK throughout the 1980′s. The care home caters for 34 residents in mainly single room, en-suited accommodation and has a range of spacious communal facilities with large outdoor spaces and landscape designed gardens.

PEN-Y-GARTH CARE HOME

Pen-Y-Garth care home is situated in the rural village of Brymbo, just four miles from the North Wales town of Wrexham. A Georgian property set in 2 acres of landscaped grounds and with stunning panoramic views of the countryside, the home was originally converted to its role as a care home in 1985 and extended five years later with the addition of a purpose built EMI wing. Pen-Y-Garth now provides exceptional 24-hour residential and EMI residential care for up to 44 residents.
