Pen-Y-Garth Owners Celebrate 20th Anniversary

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the current ownership of Pen-Y-Garth Care Home near Wrexham. The consistently high quality personal and dementia care that Pen-Y-Garth has provided, as reflected in our consistently high occupancy levels and the regular testimonials we have received, has been a team effort, and the owners would like to thank the manager, Michele, and all her team for their hard work and dedication during this time. We would also like to thank all the individuals and agencies that clearly appreciate the excellent care that Pen-Y-Garth provides, including Wrexham and Flintshire Councils and the local Health Trust ( BCUHB ).

Exciting Planned Outings for Pen-Y-Garth Residents

Residents at Pen-Y-Garth Care Home near Wrexham can look forward to a series of planned outings this year, including a trip to a candle factory in Chester, a visit Llangollen, a barge trip along the Llangollen Canal to Trevor, and sightseeing trips around our beautiful countryside – all weather permitting of course!

Welcome to Lian, Pen-Y-Garth’s New Activities Co-Ordinator

Everyone at Pen-Y-Garth Care Home near Wrexham would like to extend a warm welcome to Lian, our new Activities Co-ordinator. Lian’s addition to our team has been very well received by residents and friends alike, and can only serve to further enhance Pen-Y-Garth’s reputation for excellent personal care and dementia care for the elderly, including those with dementia.

Sensory Garden Project at Pen-Y-Garth Care Home

We are delighted to announce the imminent commencement of work on our new sensory garden project at Pen-Y-Garth Care Home in Brymbo near Wrexham. This enclosed outside space within our extensive grounds will further enhance our facilities and the high quality personal care and dementia care for which Pen-Y-Garth has become renowned.

Congratulations to two of our care staff at Pen-Y-Garth EMI residential care home, Lesley and Bonnie, on achieving their QCF Health & Social Care Qualifications. Good luck also goes to the many other members of our care team who are currently engaged in undertaking their Diplomas in Care.

On a general note, Pen-Y-Garth was pleased to recently host the latest 3 day dementia training course in the home. This is just the latest in our regular programme of staff training which demonstrates the care home’s commitment to continuously updating our skill set in respect of all the facets in the provision of high quality residential care. Other regular training courses attended by staff in recent months include Fire Safety, Infection Control and Health & Safety and Adult Protection, as well as Reporting and Recording and Personal Centred Care.

THE CEDARS CARE HOME

The Cedars care home is situated in the leafy suburban village of Bowdon in south Manchester. The home itself is a Victorian property built in the 1870′s and sympathetically converted by Caring UK throughout the 1980′s. The care home caters for 34 residents in mainly single room, en-suited accommodation and has a range of spacious communal facilities with large outdoor spaces and landscape designed gardens.

PEN-Y-GARTH CARE HOME

Pen-Y-Garth care home is situated in the rural village of Brymbo, just four miles from the North Wales town of Wrexham. A Georgian property set in 2 acres of landscaped grounds and with stunning panoramic views of the countryside, the home was originally converted to its role as a care home in 1985 and extended five years later with the addition of a purpose built EMI wing. Pen-Y-Garth now provides exceptional 24-hour residential and EMI residential care for up to 44 residents.
