The Cedars Bowdon, Altrincham, Cheshire
The Cedars care home is situated in the leafy suburban village of Bowdon in south Manchester. The home itself is a Victorian property built in the 1870’s and sympathetically converted by Caring UK throughout the 1980’s.
Our continuous investment program has maintained the period character of The Cedars whilst introducing the latest in technology and innovation.
2012’s refurbishment has seen the introduction of smart-monitoring systems, wireless internet access and Sky television along with new ’boutique hotel’ inspired soft furnishings, fixtures and decoration.
The care home caters for 34 residents in mainly single room, en-suited accommodation and has a range of spacious communal facilities with large outdoor spaces and landscape designed gardens.
Maintaining independence where possible, whilst providing opportunities for residents to be involved with their community and surroundings are common themes at Caring UK care homes. These values are reflected heavily in the care we deliver, the activities we provide and the environment we maintain.
The Cedars provides quality residential care for people with both physical and/or mental health needs from within and beyond the borough of Trafford.
The care home is regulated by the Care Quality Commission and is a member of the English Community Care Association.

Our Residents Relatives Comments over the past 28 years
Everyone at The Cedars has worked hard to help my mother feel ‘at home’. It provides high quality care in a safe and warm environment. The staff are always friendly and helpful. It gives me great peace of mind to know my mother is in such good hands.
I would like to say the biggest thank you to you all for caring and looking after my mum for the last few years of her life. You were all life savers to our relationship and without The Cedars’ help my mother and I would not have experienced the calmer mother and daughter relationship we ended up having. So, thank you all so much for all your patience, love and care that you gave her.
I am always listened to if I have a question or concern. I consider that mum is treated with respect. You keep me informed on health and other matters. You find special touches, like haggis on Burns Night – very thoughtful. Everyone is always very cheerful and positive.
Everyone is friendly and very helpful. I am always contacted regarding my father’s health. Compassion and care. 10 out of 10 – your level of care is fantastic. My father hasn’t been so bright and healthy in years. The care you provide for him is great.
