Regulatory Compliance

This care home principally provides long term care, although is sometimes able to offer periods of respite care. There are no dedicated Respite Care rooms. Day Care is also provided either on a regular or on an ad-hoc basis.

Updated 2009

To allow us to do the above, as of February, 2009, we are registered with the Care Quality Commission as follows:

Service Category:

Care home only (PC)

Service User Categories:

  • Old age, not falling within any other category (OP); Dementia (DE)
  • Mental disorder, excluding learning disability or dementia (MD); Physical Disability (PD)

Updated 2010

Under a new system of registration being introduced in 2010 by the Care Quality Commission ( CQC ), in order to carry on providing exactly the same care as before, we have now sought to register as follows:

Regulated Activity:

Accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care

Service Type:

Care home service without nursing

Service User Bands:

A Older People  B  Younger Adults  C  Mental Health  D  Physical Disability

Regulated Activities:

Treatment of disease, disorder or injury

This aspect of registration allows us to administer the medication prescribed by Medical Practitioners, according to their instructions, and enables us to assist the Healthcare professionals (doctors, district nurses & etc) who visit our Residents by doing such things as administering insulin injections to Residents unable to do this themselves or by re-dressing wounds. We only carry out such tasks at the specific request of the General Practitioner or District Nurse and following training by them.

Diagnostic & screening procedures

We believe that this will enable us to assist the Healthcare professionals who visit our Residents by doing such things as collecting samples (e.g. urine samples) and ensuring that the sample is taken to the appropriate place for analysis.
