 Located in Brymro, near Wrexham in North Wales

Pen-Y-Garth is set in maintained grounds of two acres and enjoys panoramic views of the Welsh Countryside and Cheshire Plains.

The Residential building, formerly a large family house constructed in the 19th Century, was converted to its present usage in 1985, whilst our EMI Home was purpose designed and built in 1990.

The Home is situated in the village of Brymbo, only 4 miles from Wrexham and within convenient walking distance of the local shops and Post Office. A frequent bus service stops every 15 minutes.

Colour co-ordinated decor and modern facilities, and caring trained staff all combine to provide superb Long Term Care, Convalescent Care, Respite Care and Day Care within a comfortable, restful and relaxing atmosphere.

Individual Care Plans mean that the needs of each and every resident are catered for in the high quality care provided at Pen-Y-Garth.

Pen-Y-Garth EMI Nursing Home & GardensMeanwhile, full activities programmes, external trips, rotating library, and religious services all provide physical and mental stimulation and enjoyment. We very much encourage residents friends and relatives to become involved in the life of the home.

Pen-Y-Garth is Registered with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW). We are also members of the North Wales Care Association (NWCA) and Care Forum Wales (CFW).

2. Providing that the initial information indicates that the Home may be suitable, our Home Manager will arrange an appointment to meet with the prospective Resident at Pen-Y-Garth, in their own home, or in hospital, whichever is most convenient.

3. If the discussions and assessment confirm that the accommodation is required, fees can be discussed and agreed, arrival date discussed and, if possible, agreed, and a deposit to secure the room paid and a receipt given.

4. Admission to the home is subject to agreement of the details included in the Statement of Terms for the Resident.

For long stay residents, a trial period of 4 weeks is operated to ensure that all parties are happy with the arrangements.

Pen-Y-Garth - An Approved Care Home

Pen-Y-Garth is Registered with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales ( CSSIW ). We are on the Approved Provider List of Wrexham C.B.C and Flintshire CC, as well as being contracted with Denbighshire CC, Cheshire CC and other Local Authorities.

We are a member of North Wales Care Association ( NWCA ), which is affiliated to the national Association, Care Forum Wales.

Pen-Y-Garth - Advice about Care Funding

Local Authority funding may be available to you if your financial circumstances meet the necessary criteria. We will be pleased to advise you of the action you should take to determine such funding if you.

The Governments' Choice Directive under the " Care in the Community " Programme affords you the right to choose your preferred Care Home, be this a Private or Local Authority home.

Please contact us for advice before making any decision about short or long term residential care where Local Authority, or private funding is involved. The rules on funding are now quite complex and are often means-tested, and you should not make any decision which affects your finances before seeking proper advice. Suitable Independent Financial Advisors ( IFA’s ), who will offer advice free of charge, are locally available, and we can provide names of such regulated advisors on request.

Directions From Chester:

Take A483 Southbound to Junction with A525, sign posted Brymbo. Turn right onto A525 and after approximately 400 metres take second road on right. After approximately 2 miles turn right sign posted Brymbo onto slip road to T-junction with B5101. Turn right onto B5101 and continue for about 2 miles, passing under rail tunnel and through Lodge to Brymbo Village.

Approximately half a mile past the pub on the right, turn left into Pleasant Lane. Pen-Y-Garth is approximately 30 metres on the right.
